Heather O’Neill, CEO & President

Advanced Energy United was honored to sponsor last week’s 46th Annual National Conference of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE): Energized for Success: It’s Time in Houston. The conference provided several of our staff members #TheAABEExperience, where we also premiered a new video (below) showcasing our mission to build a cleaner, more inclusive world. Member organizations SunrunLS PowerSunPower Corporation UtilidataKey Capture EnergyDNVMicrosoft, and Pattern Energy Group joined us in producing the video and sponsoring the

Advanced Energy United Applauds New Measures to Protect Coloradans from High Gas Costs, Creates National Model for Overcoming Gas Rate Hikes

Today, Advanced Energy United praised Governor Polis for signing Senate Bill 23-291 into law, authorizing practical reforms to utility regulation and building upon existing gas planning improvements. The bill ends a process of subsidizing gas hookups for new customers, requires an assessment of gas infrastructure stranded asset risk, and looks at new rate-setting tools to share fuel risk between customers and investors. “This bill should be seen as a model for states across the country on how to manage high gas prices and a transition to cost-saving alternatives to gas, like high-efficiency heat pumps, rooftop solar and battery storage,” said United senior policy principal Emilie Olson. Continue reading the press release here.>

New York’s Clean Energy Goals are Being Undermined by Utilities’ Gas Infrastructure Investments

New Yorkers want to power their homes with clean energy, but utilities continue to spend billions of their customers’ money on the construction of new fossil fuel pipelines, locking residents into paying for outdated home heating technology. The NY HEAT Act would require gas utilities to update their infrastructure investment plans to be in line with the state’s long-term vision, and repeal a rule requiring ratepayers to subsidize new gas customers. The legislation would help ensure that New Yorkers have access to cheap, clean energy in the future. Continue Reading on the blog.>
