How MSIs/TCUs/HBCUs Can Engage in the Renewable Energy Ecosystem

When: Thursday, January 18, 2023 from 3:00 – 4:00pm EST

Come learn about how Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) can engage in the renewable energy ecosystem.

Presenters will share about the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Grant Program and the work of Clean Energy Business Network (CEBN), which is one of the Department of Energy’s Power Connectors.

  • How to Use DOT CFI Grant Program to Receive up to $15M of EV Charging Stations At No Cost – by Mark Campbell and Kelvin Boston with Merakisis & Loop Global
    • CFI Program Overview + How MSIs, TCUs, and HBCUs Can Engage & Get EV Chargers at No-Cost
    • Plug In – Be Well and Prosper; Impact of the CFI Grant
  • Clean Energy Business Network, a DOE Power Connector and Beyond – by Lynn Abramson and Eric Foster, CEBN
    • Near-term and ongoing federal government programs and resources to support the clean energy economy, and how MSIs, TCUs, and HBCUs can seize their share of these resources.
    • Partnership opportunities, free technical assistance, and other resources from the Clean Energy Business Network and other “Power Connectors” in the DOE’s American-Made Network.

An overview of the FACES Program will be provided at the top of the session. During the Townhall, MSI, TCU, and HBCU faculty will have an opportunity to ask questions about and share their interest in the FACES Program.
