New Research: Beyond the Badge
How does policing affect public health? Our latest Center for Policy Analysis & Research (CPAR) research brief, Beyond the Badge: Policing as a Social Determinant of Health, explores this critical question. Using a difference-in-difference analysis, the study compares health outcomes in Minneapolis, MN and St. Louis, MO before and after the implementation of the Minnesota Police Accountability Act and related city ordinances.
This research, written by CBCF NREI Fellow Ashley Hodo, aims to inform equitable policy reforms by examining how changes in policing directly impact community well-being in the wake of George Floyd’s death. |
