Farewell to DEP Director and MCGB Board Member Jon Monger

On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, we had the privilege of bidding farewell to Jon Monger, Director of the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection and a valued member of the Montgomery County Green Bank Board of Directors.Jon’s leadership and commitment have been instrumental in advancing Montgomery County’s clean energy and sustainability goals, leaving a lasting impact on our mission and community. We are deeply grateful for his service and dedication, and we wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.

BISNOW: Future of Montgomery County

On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, we participated in BISNOW: Future of Montgomery County, where our CEO, Stephen Morel, spoke on the panel Finding the Sweet Spot: Site Selection, Zoning & Housing Strategy in MoCo.

The event explored how Montgomery County is navigating zoning changes, housing incentives, and land use strategies to meet growing demand while balancing community needs. Steve joined fellow leaders to discuss how public-private partnerships, policy shifts, and innovative financing are driving the county’s transformation.

Green Table Talks: Financing Your Sustainability Goals

On Wednesday, August 20th, Myra Cobb-Davis joined the Building Innovation Hub’s final Green Table Talk session — Financing Your Sustainability Goals: Money Talks.Attendees explored local programs, funding opportunities, and incentives from organizations like DC Sustainable Energy Utility, Washington Area Community Investment Fund, Inc., Montgomery County Green Bank, and DC Green Bank to help property owners and managers bring their sustainability projects to life.

Intersections: A Conversation with Cindy McCabe of the Montgomery County Green Bank 

Our Director of Renewable Energy Programs, Cindy McCabe, was featured on the latest episode of Intersections: Energy and Environmental Issues in Law and Tech. In her conversation with Cathy Pagano of the Women’s Bar Association of D.C., Cindy breaks down what Green Banks are, how the Montgomery County Green Bank got its start, and the work we’re doing to expand energy efficiency, renewable energy, and resiliency across Montgomery County. She also shares insights on how other communities can create Green Banks of their own.
