| Senior Accounting Manager
Washington, DC
Salary Range: $110k – $125k
Latin American Youth Center’s (LAYC) mission is to empower youth to achieve a successful transition to adulthood, through comprehensive and innovative programs that address youths’ social, academic, and career needs.
The Senior Accounting Manager, reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, will be responsible for supervising accounting staff and managing all month-end, quarter-end and year end closing activities including journal entries, reconciliations, allocations, variance analyses, integrity validations, etc. The Accounting Manager will also ensure that LAYC meets all Uniform Guidance and grant compliance requirements and prepare all grant-related schedules for the annual financial statement and Uniform Guidance audits.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist CFO with development of annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Assist CFO with preparation of monthly financial reports for Executive Team, and quarterly financial reports and forecasts to be presented by CFO to the Board.
- Update and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures which conforms to the Uniform Grant Guidance for all federal grants and current Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for all other governmental and private grants.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting staff.
- Manage preparation for annual audit, including interactions with auditors, preparing audit schedules and draft financial statements. Ensure timely completion of audit drafts, final audited financial statements and 990.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or equivalent required; CPA and/or CMA preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of US GAAP is required.
- Proficiency with Intacct and Martus a plus.
- Strong understanding and experience with Uniform Guidance principles and a track record that includes Federal award rules and regulations, cost tracking, and audit processes is required.
- Experience working in non-profit organizations is preferred, 501(c) (3) organizations is a strong plus;
- Excellent proficiency in Excel is required with the ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets.

| Senior Environmental Engineer or Scientist (Site Remediation)

Madison Energy Infrastructure is seeking a highly experienced Energy Storage Manager to support the development, procurement, contracting, and execution of commercial and sub utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role sits within the Engineering team and focuses primarily on early-stage project work alongside M&A and Development, with handover to Construction and ultimately Asset Management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Direct medium- to large-scale complex projects to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality
- Write, review, and oversee technical documents, reports, and engineering designs, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), cleanup alternatives analyses, remediation plans, and work plans
- Review Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs) and Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) to ensure logical, efficient, and defensible sampling for site characterization
- Interpret engineering, geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data from contaminated sites to evaluate, design, and optimize multi-media remediation systems, including developing strategies, technical rationale, and cost estimates
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation
- Experience with Brownfields, CERCLA, RCRA Corrective Action, and/or state Voluntary Remediation Programs (VRPs)
- Proven project manager with the ability to oversee multiple projects and subcontractors, ensuring completion on time and within budget
- Strong knowledge of current and emerging remedial technologies, with preference for candidates experienced with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
- Ability to prioritize tasks, perform effectively, and communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- Physical capability to carry up to 25 pounds, climb ladders, and work on elevated platforms

| IT and Ops Coordinator (PT/Seasonal)

The American Forest Foundation (AFF) unlocks the power of family forests as a climate solution while helping thousands of landowners care for their land and improve forest health.
This is an hourly, seasonal part time role through August 15th with an expectation of 10-15 hours per week. In this role you will support AFF moving out of its current office. You will act as the eyes and hands for our remote staff as help catalogue, scan, and preserve decades of physical knowledge and make a plan for all the furniture and equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be comfortable doing heavy lifting online and in person!
Job Responsibilities:
- Support all operational aspects of the office relocation, with primary responsibility for preparing records, assets, and the emptying the physical spaces for the move.
- Inventory, sort, and apply retention guidance to large volumes of physical paper files, including determining what should be scanned, retained, archived, or securely destroyed.
- Coordinate and track large-scale document scanning efforts, ensuring files are prepared, progress is monitored, and work is completed accurately. Some data is very sensitive.
- Support vendor relationships for scanning, secure shredding, recycling, and furniture disposal, including scheduling, access coordination, and completion verification.
- Assist with office, storage room, and asset cleanouts, including decommissioning furniture and equipment and coordinating disposal or donation.
- Other tasks as assigned to support the broader IT/Ops, Finance, HR, and other teams participating in the move.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to fill, lift and carry boxes up to 50lbs and remain on their feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable using a document scanner and printer, following simple on-screen prompts, and performing basic file naming or scanning workflows with accuracy.
- Capable of keeping physical boxes and scanned documents organized, labelling items correctly, and maintaining orderly work areas.
- Must reliably follow documented procedures for handling, scanning, and destroying materials, including confidentiality or handling guidelines if documents are sensitive.
- Expected to arrive on time, work scheduled hours consistently, and complete assigned tasks without close supervision.
