At this year’s Tribal National Summit, President Biden announced his support for the Haudenosaunee Confederacy (previously known as the Iroquois Confederacy) to compete in lacrosse under their own Tribal flag in the 2028 LA Olympics.

Their ancestors created the game over a thousand years ago, and the sport remains a revered part of their culture. They view lacrosse as their gift to the world – their operating philosophy is “Peace, friendship and healing through sport.”

White House Tribal Nations Summit

At the third annual White House Tribal Nations Summit of the Biden-Harris Administration, President Biden signed a historic executive order to usher in a new era of Tribal self-determination and direct federal agencies to take action to ensure federal funding for Tribes is accessible, flexible, and equitable.

The two-day Summit, a reflection of the Administration’s commitment to strengthening Nation-to-Nation relationships, brought together Tribal leaders and top Biden-Harris administration officials to discuss implementation of key priorities, new policies, and other critical issues facing Tribal Nations.

The President, Vice President, Cabinet and senior administration officials highlighted historic progress in delivering on the President’s commitment to investing in Indian Country.

+199,000 Jobs

In November, the economy added 199,000 jobs, bringing the total to over 14 million jobs created since President Biden took office. The unemployment rate has remained below 4% for 22months in a row, and inflation has fallen by two-thirds. Workers’ paychecks and household wealth are higher now than they were before the pandemic, after adjusting for inflation. Thanks to President Biden’s leadership, we have achieved better growth and lower inflation than any other advanced country.

The Biden-Harris Administration approved another $4.8billion in student debt relief for 80,300 people. In total, our Administration has canceled $132 billion in student debt relief for over 3.6 million Americans through various actions.
