Check out our ten tips for hosting an in-person or virtual tour!
- Printed or Digital Signage! Offer educational materials and specs for sustainable aspects of home.
- Share a recent electric bill showing savings. If you have an app showing solar production, show it to tourgoers.
- For in-person tours, have host name badges (template located on our resources page)
- Have the builders, architects, or installers present in-person or via video to provide more information to tourgoers.
- Have a list of resources: materials, installers, builders, suppliers, financing. Share their contact info/business cards if available.
- Emphasize energy efficiency before renewable energy consumption.
- Share a slideshow or photos printed or digitally to share showcasing the sustainable aspects of home.
- For in-person tours, if having guests inside/open house style, have explicit shoes off policy or offer reusable shoe covers.
- For in-person tours, providing light refreshments is a nice touch.
- Most importantly… HAVE FUN!
