Green The Church California Field Associate Joan Hawkins travelled to Washington, D.C., January 16-19 to participate in a Climate Action Campaign convening of 80 representatives of organizations working together to ensure our elected officials #DefendOurClimate. She wrapped up the week participating in visits to the offices of Senator Jon Ossoff and Congresswoman Nikema Williams.
This past Saturday, January 20, our Green The Church CLIMATE REVIVAL was held at Williams Chapel Baptist Church in Oakland and virtually via Zoom. At this first quarterly event of the year, participants enjoyed fellowship, praise and worship, and engaging panel discussions on renewable energy and developing affordable housing on church land. Watch this space for information on our next events!
Finally, this week, Green The Church Southern Regional Field Director Rev. Bruce Carroll and Green The Church Louisiana Education Field Director Vickie Carroll have been participating at the National Baptist Joint Board Session in Memphis, Tennessee!
Check out the most recent episode of THE R.A.C.E. (Resilience, Aboriginal, Courageous, Empowered) podcast, Environmental Stewardship and Innovation with Dr. Reginald Parker, for an in-depth discussion of the intersections of faith, culture, and environmental responsibility—and the urgent race for the survival of our planet.
