| BIG NEWS! In June, the New York State Legislature passed a one-year moratorium on new data centers. Food & Water Watch’s NY team fought hard for this historic victory, and New York is now poised to become the first state in the U.S. to pause data centers, but only if Governor Hochul signs the bill.
We also launched our new Stop Data Centers coalition. With hundreds of organizations nationwide, we’ll work to push state bills like New York’s, support local grassroots efforts, and pressure our leaders to pass a national pause on new data centers! Learn more about the coalition and how you can take action! |

Taking Trump’s EPA to Court!
This month, we joined with allies to sue Trump’s EPA for taking seven polluted Iowa drinking water sources off the Impaired Waters list, even though years of monitoring data show they have unsafe levels of nitrate pollution.
Nitrates are linked to cancer and birth defects. EPA’s move ignores this serious health risk from factory farms and lets major polluters off the hook.
We’re fighting back because we know that EPA’s irresponsible about-face on Iowa’s nitrate pollution crisis will not stand in court. |

The U.S. Stores 90,000 Tons of Radioactive Nuclear Energy Waste in Inadequate, Short-term Storage.
As the state of our climate reaches increasingly dire straits, many leaders and tech boosters are turning their attention to nuclear energy. But nuclear isn’t a climate solution — it’s dangerous, water-intensive, and expensive, especially when compared to cheap, abundant solar and wind energy. Learn more by watching our June Livable Future Live event. |

Take Action on Poison PFAS!
The Trump administration is moving to weaken key protections against toxic PFAS in our drinking water. More than half of people in the U.S. drink water contaminated with these “forever chemicals” linked to cancer and other serious health issues. But Trump is siding with polluters over people with these rollbacks.
This can’t stand. As the PFAS public health crisis expands, we must have stronger — not weaker — protections for our water. Tell the EPA: Maintain critical PFAS protections! |
