The purge of federal workers from key agencies across the federal government includes those tasked with conducting critical science that helps predict changes to local and global weather and those who implement laws and policies addressing climate change. These purges come on the heels of the President’s declaration of a “national energy emergency,” which gave the White House the power to fast-track new oil and gas projects and a doubling down of his attacks on clean energy programs.

In this webinar, experts from PEER and former senior officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will explore how workforce and operational changes at EPA and NOAA will cause widespread harm to efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect communities from global warming. We will also offer tangible actions you can take to help make things better.

This webinar was presented as part of Bard College’s World Wide Climate and Justice Education Week.
