When the Michigan Public Service Commission recently granted Enbridge Energy a permit to build the Line 5 pipeline, they did it without regard to our sacred water and fishing rights.

Jannan J. Cornstalk, citizen of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, has emphasized the cultural and spiritual importance of protecting the waters of the Great Lakes, saying:

“Our very lifeways and cultures hang in the balance… The disturbances go deeper than you are hearing. That water is our relative, and we will do whatever it takes to protect our water, our sacred relative.”

All of Michigan’s 12 Tribal Nations oppose the pipeline and we’re backing them up by driving tens of thousands of comments to the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers against the Line 5 pipeline.

Now, we need your support to win this fight. Contribute $5 or whatever you can afford and deliver the resources we need to hit our goal of 50,000 comments to stop Line 5.
