Economic Recovery Corp Placing Fellows in Communities
The U.S. Department of Commerce is launching the first of its kind Economic Recovery Corps (ERC) with a $30 million CARES Act investment.
The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) is leading a coalition of organizations to establish and operate the national program, which will recruit and place at least 65 fellows in economic development organizations in underserved communities across the nation.
Fellows will provide technical assistance, enabling underserved communities to better access funding and participate in economic development initiatives. [Read More]

EDA’s Revolving Loan Funds (RLF) program provides a critical source of gap financing to businesses that have had challenges accessing capital. A new initiative is set to provide enhanced opportunities for cooperation and collaboration among EDA’s nationwide network of approximately 400 RLF operators. [Read More]
Supporting Partnerships Through ACE Ecuador

Rebuilding After Devastation
After suffering tremendous devastation in the 2018 Camp Fire, town leaders in Paradise, California, began outlining their vision to restore the town. A $1.8 million EDA investment supported planning and development of a master plan to guide recovery, which officials’ credit with helping them to secure a $200 million grant awarded from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Supporting Small Businesses
An EDA-capitalized Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) is providing support to small businesses in Northern California. California Capital provides loans to more than 30 different companies, ranging from an auto towing business to e-commerce and manufacturing. In Sacramento, California, one business is serving children and adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness thanks to California Capital. [Read More]

Boosting Biotech
Lawrence, Kansas, is already the default center point on Google Earth. Now, with EDA support, it will also serve as the center of bioscience and technology in the state.
